BIRDS!

What’s it all about?

Duggee is observing the avian wildlife through his binoculars – or, to put it another way, he’s birdwatching! Duggee teaches the Squirrels all about birdwatching, and how you have to be very quiet to see them. When Duggee dislodges a bird’s nest, however, the Squirrels must make a new home for Mr and Mrs Bird.

This is the episode where:

  1. Roly has trouble remembering that you have to be quiet during birdwatching!
  2. The Squirrels have no trouble spotting Hennie the Ostrich, as she’s so tall.
  3. We learn that Duggee’s sneezes are very loud indeed.
Isn't it time for...?

Isn’t it time for…?

At the start of the episode, Betty is reading a book about birds before realising it’s time for Squirrel Club.

What did we learn?

  1. Birdwatchers have to be very quiet, to avoid scaring off the birds!
  2. You can birdwatch anywhere there are birds – and there are birds everywhere! Try seeing how many birds you can spot in a garden or park.
Well That Was Fun, Wasn’t It, Duggee?

Well That Was Fun, Wasn’t It, Duggee?

Before Duggee can answer, an operatic bird on the Clubhouse roof sings “Yeeeeeees!”
