What can we play?

What’s it all about?

Duggee brings in a saxophone for the Squirrels to hear, and they discover that music can make us feel sad, and happy, and everything else in between! The Squirrels want to make their own music, but the saxophone is a bit big – fortunately, Duggee has his Making Music badge, and shows the Squirrels that they can make music with practically anything!

This is the episode where:

  1. The Squirrels make (and name) their own musical instruments!
  2. Tag makes shakers, Norrie makes drums, Betty makes a tubey thing, Happy makes “plinky plonks” and Roly uses a balloon.
  3. The Squirrels’ first attempt at making music is… not great. In fact, all the animals run and hide!
Isn’t It Time For…?

At the start of the episode, Happy is doing some beatboxing when he realises it’s time for Squirrel Club.

What did we learn?

  1. Music can make us feel things – it can make us happy and sad and lots of other feelings too.
  2. There are lots of ways to make your own music! How many instruments can you make from things you have around you?
Well That Was Fun, Wasn’t It, Duggee?

Duggee nods as, all around him, various animals start to play the same jazz number the Squirrels played earlier.

If you love this one, you’ll most certainly enjoy these episodes:

  1. The Singing Badge
  2. The Stick Badge
