General Ant: Oh, blueberries!

What’s it all about?

Duggee is relaxing and reading his newspaper – until the wind blows it all over the garden! When the Squirrels pick it all up for him, Duggee decides to show them another thing you can do with newspaper – you can fold it into a paper boat!  And a good thing too – the troop of soldier ants have a particularly perilous puddle crossing ahead of them, and need urgent assistance!

This is the episode where:

  1. Duggee wears glasses to read his newspaper!
  2. One of the ants bears more than a passing resemblance to action movie star Sylvester Stallone.
  3. The ants march to “Liberty Bell” by John Philip Sousa – better known to mums and dads as the theme music to “Monty Python’s Flying Circus”
Isn’t It Time For…?

Isn’t It Time For…?

At the start of the episode, Roly is playing with a windmill, when he realises it’s time for Squirrel Club.

What did we learn?

  1. You can make paper boats from newspaper, or any old scrap paper!
  2. You can also race boats, if you and a friend make one! Make sure a grown-up is around you if you go near water!
Well That Was Fun, Wasn’t It, Duggee?

Well That Was Fun, Wasn’t It, Duggee?

The troop of ants at Duggee’s feet say “Sir, yes sir!”, as Duggee laughs.
