These Chicken and Frog softies make great portable soft toys for Squirrels to bring with them on their adventures. They’re super simple to make too!

YOU WILL NEED

Note: A grown-up is needed to supervise and help.

How to make Frog:

  1. Cut out the shapes in fabric or felt as labelled.
  2. Line up and stitch together the two green body sections, but leave a gap at the bottom to fill the body with some fabric stuffing.
  3. Insert some fabric stuffing through the gap you’ve left. Then finish off the rest of the stitching.
  4. Using fabric glue, carefully stick the pupils onto the whites of the eyes. Then glue the eyes and the mouth to the body.

How to make a Chicken:

  1. Cut out the shapes in fabric or felt as labelled.
  2. Line up the two yellow body sections and position the red feathers in the correct place between them. Then stitch together the two yellow body sections (and feathers), but leave a gap at the bottom to fill the body with some fabric stuffing.
  3. Insert some fabric stuffing through the gap you’ve left. Then finish off the rest of the stitching.
  4. Using fabric glue, carefully stick on the eyes and beak to the body.
