Our master biscuit decorator! Keep reading to find out all of Riley’s tips and tricks for icing your very own Duggee biscuits. A-WOOF!

How long have you been icing biscuits?

I first started in 2015 with very basic designs. They were not detailed at all and had very little colour.

We’ve got really wobbly hands. Do you think we could do it to?

Yes! Anyone can, just start with simple designs and techniques first. Don’t dive into anything too complicated. Watch tutorials online, after a while you learn different techniques and tricks.

What are you top tips for icing biscuits?

Icing Consistency is key. You don’t want your icing too stiff and you don’t want it too runny. You need a balance in the middle. Knowing your icing is so important especially when decorating. Take your time and just focus on one step at a time. Always have a scribe tool or a toothpick handy, they are great for popping air bubbles and spreading icing around evenly on the cookie.

How long did it take you to create the Duggee cookies?

The Duggee Cookies took me one week to make from start to finish. From baking to decorating. There were a lot of colours involved and a lot of steps. I wanted to take my time and make sure I got them looking just like the characters.

Who is your favourite character from Hey Duggee and why?

My favourite would have to be Roly. He makes me laugh and I just love his enthusiasm for life and his carefree nature.

Who was the easiest character to decorate?

Definitely Betty – She has a purple layer and then all the rest of her details were on top of that layer. She really only has two steps, whereas other characters have a lot more.
